Exercise Falcon Leap is an international parachute exercise that takes place annually in the Netherlands from Eindhoven Air Base.
2 weeks in September are different facets of ‘airborne’ performance (by parachute) central. For example, military personnel conduct offensive air assault operations. The exercise is led by 11 Air Mobile Brigade, within the Dutch Ministry of Defence the specialist in rapidly deployable military troops by air.
During Falcon Leap, air mobile infantrymen work closely with the Air Force, but also with foreign partners such as Great Britain, the United States and Canada. The exercise is therefore intended to train interoperability. This means that during realistic exercises they coordinate each other’s procedures and (communication) equipment. Only then will they be able to work well together in the event of a real calamity.
Four actions were open to the public. For example, on 21 September at Ede jumps took place in memory of the failed parachute offensive Market Garden in September 1944.
