Weather Conditions: Variable springtime weather with temperatures averaging 15°C to 22°C, featuring periods of overcast skies and light intermittent rain alongside sunny intervals that allowed flight routines to proceed.
The 2018 event drew over 150,000 visitors, including trade delegates and the public, alongside approximately 1,100 exhibitors from 41 countries, with more than 200 aircraft presented. Flight displays featured the Airbus A350-900 XWB, Airbus Beluga, Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale, and the Sikorsky CH-53K King Stallion. Demonstration teams included Spain’s Patrulla Águila flying CASA C-101 Aviojet trainers and the historic Flying Bulls fleet. The Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force demonstrated two Kawasaki P-1 maritime patrol aircraft. Static and operational aircraft highlights included the colossal Antonov An-225 Mriya, Emirates Airbus A380, Lufthansa Boeing 747-8, Airbus A340 BLADE, Boeing C-17 Globemaster III, Panavia Tornado, a restored Soviet Ilyushin Il-2 Sturmovik, and the full-scale mock-up of the European MALE RPAS (Eurodrone).
