Weather Conditions: Warm, late-spring conditions with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 25°C, variable cloud cover, and brief intermittent rain showers that caused only minor revisions to the flight display schedules.
The 2016 edition welcomed approximately 150,000 visitors, including 120,000 trade delegates, alongside 1,017 exhibitors representing 37 countries. Around 200 aircraft occupied the grounds and flightlines. Flying displays featured the Airbus A350-900 XWB, the Antonov An-178, and a multi-ship Bundeswehr tactical air parade including the Eurofighter Typhoon, Panavia Tornado, and Airbus A400M. Prominent demonstration teams included the Swiss Air Force Patrouille Suisse flying Northrop F-5E Tiger II jets and the Royal Navy Black Cats operating two AgustaWestland AW159 Wildcat HMA2 helicopters. Static displays highlighted military and civil types, including the Emirates Airbus A380, Lufthansa Boeing 747-8 (“Siegerflieger”), Lufthansa Airbus A320neo, Boeing C-17 Globemaster III, Rockwell B-1B Lancer, and a historic replica of the 1894 Lilienthal Normalsegelapparat.

Show Ground Dimensions: Total operational area spanned 250,000 m² (25 hectares), comprising 50,000 m² of covered exhibition hall space and 100,000 m² of outdoor display apron.
